This gallery gathers Karl Forterre's night photos, from the sky to lit streets. It includes the two most viewed photos of his entire Pexels profile: a thin crescent moon in a gradient twilight sky, and a moonless sky full of stars crossed by the Milky Way. In Galicia, the Milky Way appears again above Lugo, and the Andromeda Galaxy in a starry sky. The moon comes back often: full, behind rooftop chimneys under a purple sky, or in the titles of several images, “Lune”, “Lunaire”, “Lune électrique”, “Lune et rateau”.
In town, the dome of La Grave and the Pont Saint-Pierre light up in Toulouse, a cobbled shopping street lies deserted beneath its lamps, a tree glows at a Christmas market, and fireworks color the sky over Foz, in Galicia. Fog gives the night another face: a house entrance lit by a single lamp, light bursting through pine branches, the silhouette of a pine under a misty moonlit sky. A few images turn abstract, with light trails over people in motion, a red neon glowing in the shape of a cross, or a single orange light.
